The chemical industry covers a very broad range: base chemicals, intermediates classified as bulk chemicals. A wide variety of consumer products can be obtained by further reaction steps. For example original starch does not directly put into use and special treatments are needed because of starch insolubility, or special chemicals and ingredients are joined. The starch whose property is altered is widely used in various fields, such as industrial (like adhesives, textile mucilage) and food fields (used as sweetener like glucose/fructose or food additives for noodle soup).

Enron Research has designed and it has constructed cassava modified starch line in Africa. Enron can design:

- modified starch line

- gas treatment systems (for syngas and biogas)

- biogas upgrading to biomethane

- chemical process lines
